The guilt that is felt within is not just for the keeping of the secrets but for fear that should they share what lies within, what will happen next? The punishment, harshly expected, may not be there, if they know that what has happened, be it what they did or what was done to them, is not their fault. They may not be allowed to speak openly of what eats away at their soul. Forgiving ourselves, the key, within the grasp of all... within easy reach, if only we would.
